Spanish for Kids

Elmont Memorial Library runs a six-week Spanish for Kids program, conducted by a woman named Meghan DePaoli. She is fluent in the language and really makes learning fun for our 3- and 4-year-olds. She plays games, reads books, sings songs and does art projects. Here at Elmont she has managed to teach numbers, colors, body parts, words that describe people, greetings and goodbyes, words for clothing, foods, mealtimes, words for objects around the house and at school, etc.

She really immerses the kids in the language by speaking only Spanish to them; the parents were thrilled and the kids loved it!
